What seeds will be planted at this year's Fair? What will they become? Do you want to be a sower of seed? We are in the last days. How many more opportunities will come to tell His Story?
Sometimes it is easy to get discouraged in your ministries, whatever they may be. We don't always see any fruit. What we sow is often watered by others and reaped by others still. Mostly, we will only know our impact for Christ when we get to heaven. So, it is a wonderful blessing when we get a glimpse of what our planted seeds have become. Recently, a young man contacted my church and told an amazing story. In 2009, he was on a school field trip to Perry, GA. The Georgia National Fair was being held at the time and he and some of his friends decided to go see it. This high school boy did not attend church and had no Christian friends. But God had an appointment for him! He went into the Wordless Book Tent and heard a short Gospel story. It changed his life forever! He accepted Christ as his Savior. A tent worker gave him a Bible and he read the Sermon on the Mount that night. This young man went on to attend the University of Georgia and attended a local church where he grew in his faith. In 2015, he became a missionary with the International Mission Board and serves in Japan where he is telling the lost in that country about Christ. If you would like to see a bit more about this servant of God and his ministry work, you can find him at https://www.facebook.com/michael.creed.102.

As the COVID cases rise, the tensions of many Americans are rising as well. More than ever, let’s stay faithful!
Faithful in Prayer, faithful in service and faithful in The Gospel - Mark 16:15! You have an amazing chance to share the Good News at the Georgia National Fair being held October 7-17th. Sign up or contact me for more information. If you want a group training, there’s several opportunities coming up. If you have never been trained in sharing the Gospel using the Wordless Book method, don’t worry! We offer training in the tent. We will not expect you to just sit in front of a group and share. You will be able to sit beside a trained storyteller and coached along until you are able to effectively communicate the Gospel message using the Wordless Book. Hope to see you at the fair or even sooner. The Fair Lady Students from Huntington College in Indiana have been doing missionary work in central Georgia for several weeks this summer. They have been working to assist Spanish-speaking congregations in Vienna, Perry, Tifton, and Americus. They have helped with building projects, renovations, repairs, clinics, and soccer camps. Last Thursday in Vienna, the students took a break from the church renovations to conduct a soccer camp for children. After the camp, the My Fair Lady presented the Gospel using the Wordless Book. Several children accepted Christ. Members of the church provided plenty of their wonderful empenadas to feed the group! Last Friday, a group of the students also helped with a soccer camp at Perry Baptist.
I want to invite you to be a part of this year’s huge soul-winning opportunity!
The Georgia National Fair is October 7-17th 2021. Here are three ways you can help: 1. Gospel Storytellers are greatly needed. Come share the Good News using the Wordless Book Method of evangelizing. Witnessing is Biblical! Hear what scripture says: Proverbs 10:30. He that wins souls is wise. Romans 10:17. Faith come by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Exodus 4:12. Go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth, and teach you what you are to say. Acts 1:8. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My Witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth. Here is a link to sign up for shifts at the fair: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0445AAAB2DA7FA7-2019 2. Prayer is a vital on-going part of this important outreach. Please keep the Wordless Book Tent Ministry in your prayers. Pray as the Holy Spirit directs you. Especially that the Lord of the Harvest will bring laborers as the scripture says. Luke 10:2. And He was saying to them, the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the Harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. 3. Donations. We are always in need of items which support our operations at the Georgia National Fair. Some of the things we use are tracts, bracelets, bags, Wordless Books, resource cards, transportation, and food. In addition, we have to pay for the fair space and electricity. We have a church budget which supports a good bit of the cost and wonderful sponsors who donate food and other items such as bracelets. But, we are always in need of help for many of the things we order. Pictured below are examples of items already ordered this year in preparation for the Georgia National Fair. The donor who previously supplied the wonderful plastic bags is no longer able to do so. Please contact me (myfairladyga@gmail.com) should you feel led to be a sponsor for any of the ministry supplies. Philippians 4:17. Not that I seek the gift, but seek the fruit that abounds to your account. There is a giving link through my home church. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated and 100% applied to ministry items! Make sure to indicate that your donation is for the My Fair Lady Tent Ministry in the “Choose Your Designation” drop down menu at the following site. http://give.idonate.com/houston-lake-baptist-church/give John Lanier went to his eternal home in Heaven on June 1. For those who have known him and have worked ministries with him, you know what a soldier for Christ he was. He was a Bible scholar and a fine teacher of the Word. He reflected Christ in all that he did. Most importantly, he loved to tell the Gospel Story and was a faithful worker at the tent ministry at the Georgia National Fair and so many other ministries. Stricken with the mental prison that is Alzheimer's disease, the past few years have been difficult for him and those who loved him. Praise God he is now released from that affliction and is praising God in Heaven! Please pray for his wife Etta as she copes with life without her husband and lifelong soulmate. Below is the text she posted on Facebook telling of his last earthly moments. "My sweet husband went home to be with the Lord this afternoon. He had been under Hospice care since January and had taken a turn for the worse this past Friday. I put some Christian music on and had a talk with him after lunch. I told him I loved him, but that he was very sick. I told him that Jesus was waiting for him with open arms and that he would be made whole again with no more struggles. I also told him that I would be ok here, and that I would be joining him again soon. Then I told him he was free to go. Within an hour, he opened his eyes for a few seconds and looked upward, then he slipped out into eternity. I covet your prayers as I grieve this tremendous loss in my life. Funeral arrangements at McCullough Funeral Home here in Warner Robins are pending." John Lanier at the Georgia National Fair serving the Lord!
We have all experienced a terrible year and we are all glad 2020 is behind us! 2021 looks to be filled with challenges too as we adapt to "new normal." What a devastating time to have the ministry opportunity at the Georgia National Fair canceled, when those dark times are when people need to reach out for something to strengthen them! The Gospel Story of God's love could have impacted thousands! If we have the opportunity in 2021, we should grasp it and make the most of it! People are still hurting and need a Savior more than ever.
My apologies for the lack of posts on this site over the past several months. I had a computer failure which left me without capability to update the site or post blogs. Thanks to my wonderful son, he has now equipped me with another computer and restored all of my computer's content including files and web page links. What a blessing he was able to restore my data! As of now, it appears the 2021 Georgia National Fair is going to happen. We won't know what restrictions we will have to have until closer to the Fair dates. there will probably be some restrictions on vendors. Perhaps social distancing and mask wear. Everything is volatile and may change with little notice depending on the state of the viral epidemic. We are moving forward with our Fair prep. You can help by praying for this ministry to be able to happen and be successful and safe regardless of the challenges we face. As the year moves on, we will be planning training sessions and preparing for the logistics of ministry support. Please cover the ministry in prayer and plan to come and tell the Gospel Story yourself. I have been in contact with the administrators of the Georgia National Fairgrounds concerning this year's Fair. As of right now, the 2020 Fair is planned to happen. There will be certain restrictions on vendors. Probably social distancing and mask wear at a minimum. Everything is volatile and may change with little notice. We are moving forward with our Fair prep. You can help by praying for this ministry to be able to happen and be successful and safe regardless of the challenges we face. I am making masks for our ministry team members (in Wordless Book colors of course) to use when telling the story. Below is a picture of me and of my Pastor wearing the masks.
In these perilous times, there is uncertainty and fear. How should we act? How do we cope? We should always go to God's Word for guidance. Like many churches, my home church, Houston Lake Baptist Church, had a video sermon today. It was called "How to Stay Calm in a Crisis." It was a great illustration of an acute crisis experienced by the Disciples and how the Master dispelled their fear in the midst of the storm. A message for us all that is supremely relevant in times such as these. Go to this link (or click on the Houston Lake Baptist Church liink on the home page) and click on sermons to view this great message. God Bless! www.houstonlakebaptistchurch.org.
For such times as these, we should especially be in prayer for our leaders. Here is a strong prayer you can incorporate in your daily prayers. It was forwarded to me from one of the Fair storytellers. Not sure where he got it, but it is worth using and passing on to others.
A Prayer for Our Leaders Dear God, All authority is Yours, but You have given authority to leaders to protect and guide us. Today, we ask that You would give all our leaders wisdom, discernment, strength, and resolve. Keep them healthy, safe, and rested so that they can continue to guide us through this troubling time. Give our government leaders wisdom about what needs to be done to stop the virus and stabilize our economy. Give our spiritual leaders Your discernment on how to meet people’s needs as they continue to glorify Your name and encourage the Church. Give our medical leaders insight into how to stop the virus. Strengthen their resolve and honor their hard work in creating a treatment for COVID-19. Give our civic leaders inspiration, courage, joy, and strength to meet the needs of their communities. And help us, as leaders in our communities, to display courage, hope, generosity, and kindness. Would the way we honor others inspire those around us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. Here is a report on the Port St. Lucie Fair in Florida from soul winner Ray Dunn.
Dear Friends, Many people stopped by to encourage us at the Saint Lucie County Fair Tent Ministry, February 28 through March 8, 2020. One man said he heard me tell him the story last year and he said it made such a difference in his life and he and his family have been going to church ever since. I was telling a 12-year-old boy the story when his phone rang. He answered and said, "Mom, I'm at church where they tell the story." He also prayed to receive Christ. The team shared the wordless book with 2266 people in our 10X20 foot tent, and 1097 prayed to receive Christ. Praise the Lord! We had seven out-of-town workers and sixteen story-tellers from our church, Liberty Baptist Church, sharing the good news from the wordless book. We gave out 15 cases of KJV Bibles of 24 each and 3 cases of KJV New Testaments of 100 each along with much follow-up material. All in all we had a great fair. Pray ye the LORD of the harvest that the seed sown might be nurtured and grow in the hearts of the new believers. Praise His Holy Name! Maranatha, Ray Dunn |
