The primary setting for this takes place at the Georgia National Fair in October. The "Tent Ministry," as it is known to many, is good ol' fashioned evangelism at its best. The ministry has a space reserved at the fair where a large tent is set up and filled with lots of useful evangelizing tools such as Bibles, tracts, and people who love to tell the Good News! These folks are waiting to tell the story to anyone that may come in the tent.
The main evangelizing tools used at the tent are the Wordless Book and the Bible. The Wordless Book is a tool used to walk through God's plan of salvation using 5 basic steps. It is 100% scripture-derived, and incorporates scripture for each step. The focus is on the fact that God's word is ultimate truth and is our road map through this life.
Setting up shop in a 20 x 20 carnival tent for the 11 days of craziness that a large, state fair brings may sound primitive to some. Maybe because in some ways, it is primitive. The fact is, working with this ministry, as with any ministry, can be tough. In the long run, all the trials are well worth it. My Fair Lady is looking for some dedicated, genuine people with a heart for the Lord and love for the lost to get involved. So what are you waiting for? Come serve and be blessed. :)
