Please pray for me tomorrow morning as I am conducting a Wordless Book information session. It will be at Friendship Baptist from 9:55 to 10:45 am. I am praying the Lord will bless this effort and cause many people who attend to “Catch the Vision” and come help this October at the Wordless Book Tent at the Georgia National Fair! October 5-15th.
It has been a month since the GNF has ended. Much has happened in the interim. The tent was taken down and cleaned. The carpets were also cleaned. The ministry materials were gathered and inventoried. All of the ministry materials and supplies were carefully placed back into the ministry trailer where they will wait until the 2023 GNF. My apologies for taking so long to get out a post, but I have been ill and had some unexpected out of state travel. But, I am back and wanted to post the results on the blog.
The GNF was well attended with well over 500,000 people coming to the fair. We recorded 3929 who came in and heard the story. The number is a bit lower than what we would consider a "normal" fair, but I believe that many were not recorded. We had a lot of new storytellers this year and some forgot to record who they talked to. Based upon my many years of fair experience and the ministry materials inventory, I estimate we are under reported by about 10%. God knows the numbers even if we do not! We will just make sure we do not underestimate our supplies for next year. We will begin preparations in January for the 2023 GNF. The recorded results are 929 salvations. Of these, 263 were children, 478 were teens, and 188 were adults. What a harvest! Before the GNF, these people were LOST, headed for a sinner's hell! Now Jesus is preparing their mansion in Heaven! Praise God! Below are just a few of the tent workers from 2022. The Georgia National Fair has arrived! At 3:00 this afternoon, the gates open and the harvest will arrive! Be a part of the action over the next eleven days. Catch the Vision! The harvest is ripe! Tell people about the wonderful Good News of Jesus Christ. YOU could change someone's life forever by just sharing the Wordless Book.
The Holy Spirit was present and working mightily at our last training event! The training at A New Beginning, Un Nuevo Comienzo, on September 1 was a tremendous success! In my many years of trainings at various churches, this one blessed my heart more than any other! I'm assured it blessed God as well. The participants, both Spanish and English speaking, were enthusiastic, eager, and willing to tell the story! They excitedly learned and practiced with the Wordless Book. Yes, they were on FIRE for Christ! The training consisted of older, middle aged, and many youth. Over 25 people attended including at least ten on Zoom. Below is a picture of a few of the attendees. They completed the training feeling empowered and ready to witness at the Fair. God is on the move in many mighty ways in this church! I'm so excited to work beside these precious people. Thank you all for saying YES to the Great Commission. To GO ….
May God richly bless you and your church family. There will be a Wordless Book Fair Ministry training session at Unity Baptist Church at 5:30 PM on Sunday, September 4th. Unity Baptist is located at 479 Highway 96, Bonaire, Georgia. The session is designed to train both people new to the ministry and provide refresher training for those who have done the ministry before. We will conduct practice telling of the Wordless Book method so the more who attend will aid in the breakout groupings. So, bring a friend or two.
We have a prayer group praying for this year's Georgia National Fair each Tuesday night at 5:45 PM. There is strength in numbers and the more people who pray will amplify the petitions. If you want to be a part of the prayer group, you can pray for the harvest at the fair and all of the needs required to support the ministry at the same time we are praying. God can put it all together! Here is the actual testimony of a young man whose life was forever changed because of the Gospel Story he heard in a small tent at the Georgia National Fair in 2009. His life since his conversion that year is truly a clear example of the power of the Gospel. The Holy Spirit draws us to Christ, convicts us of our sins, and indwells us when we repent and receive Christ.
The Georgia National Fair (GNF) Mission Team's main planning focus for 2022 is ask, seek, and knock. In January, the team met to "Ask." The team prayerfully asked God for guidance and His blessing for the 2022 GNF with a goal of desiring to do His will in all we say and do. Seeking also His protection from the Enemy and His Grace as we go forward in the planning.
The GNF Mission Team met again in early March to "Seek." The team brainstormed ideas for how to recover from the complacency and apathy concerning evangelism stemming from the constraints imposed by the COVID pandemic. The team began a "deep dig" into the records for the past seven years and developed a list of past and potential missionaries. The team divided the list to initiate contact. The team also planned to do a set of very short video statements from GNF missionaries highlighting personal GNF experiences of strong evangelical impact. The GNF missionary team will meet again in April to "Knock." Each team member will report on his/her contact with those on the past and potential missionary list. The planned video statements will also be recorded. Pray that the contact list will yield a great number of missionaries ready to Catch The Vision! Sometimes it is easy to get discouraged in your ministries, whatever they may be. We don't always see any fruit. What we sow is often watered by others and reaped by others still. Mostly, we will only know our impact for Christ when we get to heaven. So, it is a wonderful blessing when we get a glimpse of what our planted seeds have become. Recently, a young man contacted my church and told an amazing story. In 2009, he was on a school field trip to Perry, GA. The Georgia National Fair was being held at the time and he and some of his friends decided to go see it. This high school boy did not attend church and had no Christian friends. But God had an appointment for him! He went into the Wordless Book Tent and heard a short Gospel story. It changed his life forever! He accepted Christ as his Savior. A tent worker gave him a Bible and he read the Sermon on the Mount that night. This young man went on to attend the University of Georgia and attended a local church where he grew in his faith. In 2015, he became a missionary with the International Mission Board and serves in Japan where he is telling the lost in that country about Christ. If you would like to see a bit more about this servant of God and his ministry work, you can find him at https://www.facebook.com/michael.creed.102.
What seeds will be planted at this year's Fair? What will they become? Do you want to be a sower of seed? We are in the last days. How many more opportunities will come to tell His Story? |
